About me
I began my journey at Kolkata where I completed my higher education and also my Diploma in Printing and Graphic Arts. After few years of work experience as a printer in a security printing press, I moved to New Zealand for higher studies at Auckland University Of Technology to study Graduate Diploma in Multimedia. New Zealand is a small country where I gathered the first touch of so called "first world" country's experience. I lived in New Zealand for five long years before moving to Vancouver, Canada(May,2006). Canada is a multi-cultural country where many communities are living together. Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities of Canada and also amongst the world.
My voyage into the virtual world of graphics and media began from Broadcast New Zealand,working as Assistant Editor and utilizing the professional editing softwares like Avid Express Pro and Avid Media Composer. It is a video production house engaged in making television Serials and Documentories on social and anthropological issues.I learnt different editing and motion graphics techniques from there. I catered to clients like Livingstone Production and helped them with their last 20 episodes of 6 years old serial "Queer Nation". My next job was as a Flash Programmer for ID Limited. I programmed with ActionScript for embryotv for promoting NZ Regional TV Stations on the web. Also incorporated access database to automatically upload and download videos. My next move was a job as a Director of Lingo Programmer & interface Designer where I was involved in the development of non-linear presentation softwares from the stratch. My brain child is a seamless non-linear presentation software which integrates video, powerpoint, word, excel, pdf and flash in one presentation environment. As a designer of the product I worked closely with the clients giving special attention to branding their corporate identities.My next leap was working on a contract for 5 months with Automobile Association of New Zealand where I worked on a flash application on New Zealand maps, exporting data from a database externally. The map can be magnified where it has the capabillity to be zoomed into different sections.
After the contract is over I moved from New Zealand to Vancouver, Canada. I start working with Standard Marketing and Graphics as web developer. I use mainly PHP and MySQL scripting, Javascript, ActionScript 2, AJAX and video encoding. I worked there for 1 year and 6 months. My major achievements during my stay there is I made a website for the Strata Council which gives the strata members to post notice, email about complaints and suggestions, checking minutes and past minutes and bi-laws. Also built many shopping carts using open source PHP and MySQL.
I like video and photography very much and I appreciate nature and natural resources and love the mother earth. My aim in life is to put every beautiful and amazing things in the universe inside the frame of video or still photography. Very soon I am going to start a blog for technical tips and happening news within the city and across the continent.
